220 kV Transmission Line from Existing 220 kV CTPS Switchyard to M/s SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), Bokaro using 29 Monopole Towers

Stallion Power Infra Private Limited successfully executed the Survey, Foundation, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of 1 No. 220 kV Transmission Line from the existing 220 kV CTPS Switchyard to M/s Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), Bokaro, Jharkhand, utilizing 29 galvanized steel Monopole Towers. The project was undertaken to establish a reliable, efficient, and high-capacity transmission network for uninterrupted power supply to the Bokaro Steel Plant, one of India's largest integrated steel manufacturing facilities.

The project involved detailed route survey, foundation construction, monopole tower erection, conductor stringing, installation of insulators and hardware fittings, followed by comprehensive testing and commissioning activities. By adopting monopole technology, the transmission corridor was optimized to minimize Right-of-Way (ROW) requirements while ensuring structural stability, operational reliability, and enhanced aesthetics.

All works were executed in accordance with relevant IS standards, utility specifications, and stringent quality, safety, and environmental management practices, ensuring timely completion and dependable long-term performance of the transmission system.

Project Scope

• Detailed route survey and alignment of the 220 kV transmission line.

• Excavation, reinforcement, concreting, curing and backfilling of tower foundations.
